In his final months, Dick was embraced by the warmth of his family and friends. Those closest to him were given the priceless opportunity to express their love and appreciation, sharing moments that will forever be etched in their memories. “We were blessed to have these last few months to tell him how much we loved him,” his family shared, reflecting on the difficult yet precious time they had together. “We are heartbroken and will miss him greatly.”
A man of great kindness and integrity, Dick was a pillar in his community. His legacy is tied to the flourishing success of Lamoureux’s Greenhouses, a business that grew under his vision and hard work. Dick’s brother, too, shared his heartfelt pain in the wake of the loss. “This afternoon, my brother Dick lost his battle with cancer. I can’t begin to express how I feel right now; I am numb,” he said, echoing the deep sense of grief shared by all those who knew and loved Dick. “For those who didn’t know him, he was the founder of Lamoureux’s Greenhouses and one of the best human beings you would ever meet. Today, we lost an exceptional member of the community and an inspirational human being. I love you, Brother; I will miss you forever. Never forgotten, always loved.”
The support of family has been a cornerstone through this difficult time. “To Jill, Robin, and Steven, I just wanted to say how proud I am of the three of you and how well you handled this whole situation,” Dick’s brother added, honoring the strength and resilience of Dick’s children. “I know it’s been tough, but you guys have been exceptional, and your dad is looking down on you, smiling proudly at the adults you have become. I love you all so much, and I am so sorry for everything. Stay strong, and if you guys need anything, we’re here for you.”

A service to honor and celebrate Dick’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, at 10 AM at the Quaboag Valley Baptist Church. The family invites all who knew and loved Dick to come together to remember a man who left an indelible mark on the world, one marked by kindness, hard work, and unwavering love for those around him.
