Hoosick Falls, NY – Mina Zaffarano, a member of the Hoosick Falls community and the owner of Vine & Branches Gallery, a beloved local treasure at 441 Main Street. Mina died this morning, She was 67.
Her husband, Chet Zaffarano, shared the heartbreaking news with the community earlier today. “This is Mina’s husband,” he wrote. “Just wanted everyone to know that she passed away this morning. Our sons are handling the closing out of the business. Please be patient as we have a lot to work out.” His words were simple, yet the weight of the loss was felt deeply by all who knew her.
Mina was not only a talented artist but a deeply compassionate person whose warmth radiated through her gallery and into the hearts of those who walked through its doors. Vine & Branches Gallery, which closed its doors on December 28th after eight years of operation, was more than just a business to her—it was a reflection of her passion for the arts, her love for the local community, and her belief in the power of creativity to bring people together.
Mina’s gallery was a place where people came to admire and purchase beautiful works of art, but it was also a gathering space for friends and strangers alike, drawn together by her kindness and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She had a way of turning everyday moments into something special, whether it was through her conversations or her ability to find beauty in the simplest of things.
Her love for her family was at the heart of everything she did. Mina was the proud mother of two sons, Corey and Dan, who are now helping their father, Chet, in the difficult process of closing out their mother’s cherished business. To them, and to all who knew her, she was a guiding light—a source of strength, inspiration, and unconditional love.
In the wake of her passing, the community has been quick to express their condolences and share their memories of Mina. Many have taken to social media to express their sorrow and offer support to her family.
“I was bummed to read that Mina Zaffarano died,” one local resident shared. “She was such a wonderful person, and her gallery was a bright spot on Main Street. My deepest condolences to Chet, Corey, and Dan. May the memory of your wife and mom be a blessing.”
The closure of Vine & Branches Gallery just a few weeks ago now seems all the more poignant. Though the gallery has closed its doors, the mark Mina left on the community and in the hearts of those who knew her will remain open and everlasting.
Mina’s life was a testament to the beauty of human connection, creativity, and kindness. She believed in the importance of supporting local artists and artisans, and her gallery became a beacon of culture and creativity in Hoosick Falls. Her passion for art was not just about the pieces on display; it was about the stories behind them, the emotions they evoked, and the connections they forged between people.
As her family navigates this difficult time, the community stands with them, offering their support and love. While words can never truly capture the depth of loss, they can provide comfort in knowing that Mina’s spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched.
Chet, Corey, and Dan, our hearts are with you. We are so sorry for your loss, and we hope that in time, the beautiful memories of Mina will bring you peace. Mina’s legacy of love and art will continue to inspire us all. May her memory be a blessing to everyone whose life she touched.
