James Thibodeau Clarkston, MI, Everest Collegiate School Alumnus Of Class 2015 Died at 28

Clarkston, MI –  James Thibodeau, an alumnus of Everest Collegiate High School & Academy, who died on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the age of 28.

Jim was the son of Robert and Karen Thibodeau, and a devoted brother to Mikayla (James) Smith, Thomas Thibodeau, Kateri Thibodeau, Joe Thibodeau, Kathleen Thibodeau, and Tim Thibodeau. His close-knit family was at the center of his life, and he was deeply loved by them all. Jim was also the adored grandson of Ruth Ann Thibodeau and Jim and Kathleen Taube. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were an important part of his life. Among his closest family friends was Duncan Whitney, who stood by the Thibodeau family through life’s many moments.

Jim is now reunited with his late grandfather, Robert Thibodeau, and dear family friend, Newell Whitney, in eternal peace. The love he shared with his family and friends remains a lasting testament to the strong bonds he formed throughout his life.

Jim grew up in Clarkston and was an alumnus of Everest Collegiate High School & Academy, where he graduated in 2015. He left a lasting impression on his classmates and teachers, known for his kind heart, warm smile, and hard work. His academic success continued when he pursued higher education at Oakland University, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. Known for his determination and focus, Jim’s academic and professional accomplishments reflected his commitment to excellence and his desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world.

Outside of his academic and professional achievements, Jim lived a vibrant life filled with hobbies and interests that brought joy to him and those around him. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a deep love for fishing, a passion that he shared with many friends and family members. Jim also enjoyed playing sports, particularly ice hockey, soccer, and basketball, and found a creative outlet in playing disc golf. His love for country music could often be heard in the background of family gatherings, adding a lively soundtrack to cherished moments.

In addition to his talents in sports and music, Jim was also known for his skills in the kitchen. An excellent cook and baker, he often treated his family to many favorite dishes and desserts, creating memories that centered around shared meals and laughter. His culinary talents were just one more way in which he showed his love and care for those around him.

The Thibodeau family and the Clarkston community are invited to celebrate Jim’s life during the visitation and funeral services. Family and friends will gather at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home in Clarkston on Friday, January 17, 2025. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 pm, followed by a public visitation from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Daniel Catholic Church in Clarkston, beginning at 12:00 noon, with a visitation starting at 11:30 am. The service will offer an opportunity for the community to come together and honor Jim’s life, remembering the love, friendship, and joy he brought to so many.

Though Jim’s life was cut short, the impact he made on the people around him was profound. His family, friends, and all who knew him will carry forward the memory of his kindness, his love for life, and his unwavering devotion to the people he cared about. Rest in peace, Jim. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
