SPRINGFIED, OHIO – Kevin Mark Alden, was an honorable veteran of the United States Navy, a husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who died on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was 67 years old.
Kevin’s life was marked by service, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and community.
Born on July 19, 1957, in Springfield, Kevin was the son of Kenneth and Elaine (Judy) Alden. He grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values of love and loyalty throughout his life. After graduating from high school, Kevin answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Navy. His time in the military was a source of great pride, and he carried the lessons of discipline and honor into every aspect of his life.
Following his military service, Kevin built a career at Honda, where he worked diligently until his retirement. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers. Outside of work, Kevin was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Northridge Bearcats Association and the Northridge Swim Club, where he dedicated his time to supporting local youth and fostering a sense of camaraderie.
While Kevin’s professional and community contributions were significant, his greatest joy came from his family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Lori (Tosi) Alden, and a devoted father to his three children: Amber (Russ) Masters, Brandon (Lindsay) Alden, and Jessica (Rich) Hawkins. Kevin’s grandchildren—Zack, Addison, Bryson, Lexie, Logan, Jordan, and Izzy—were the light of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, especially cheering them on at their sports events. His face would light up with pride as he watched them play, and his encouragement was a constant source of inspiration for them.
Kevin is also survived by his brothers, John (Darlene) Alden and Bruce (Peggy) Alden; niece and nephews, Jared, Preston, Heather, and Brian; and his special friend, Scott Carnes. His beloved dog, Casey, was a constant companion and brought him immense joy in his final years.
A funeral service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home, located at 1002 East High Street in Springfield, Ohio. Family, friends, and community members are invited to attend and pay their respects to a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
Kevin Mark Alden’s legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. He will be remembered as a man who put his family first, served his country with honor, and made a lasting impact on his community. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
